Hey folks! This is Patrick from Chip Happens Auto Glass.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"How Long Do I Wait Before Driving My Car After Windshield Replacement?"

Answer from Patrick

A lot of people ask how long you have to wait after getting a new windshield installed before you can drive. And there is different glues um anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours. Uh we typically use a three-hour glue just because the adhesion has proven to be better than some of the faster glues having fail in the past. So we trust a 3-hour glue to um adhere the best.

Summary - TLDR

Patrick Sherman explained that the waiting period before driving after a new windshield installation varies based on the type of glue used, ranging from 30 minutes to 24 hours. They stated that their company typically uses a three-hour glue because its adhesion has proven more reliable than faster-setting alternatives.
