A Chip Happens technician arrives with the exact windshield for your year, make, model and options, cuts the old glass out, trims the old urethane to a thin even bed, cleans and primes the pinch weld, and sets the new glass on fresh urethane with a published safe drive-away time. The whole job takes about an hour, then the adhesive cures for roughly another hour before you drive.
We do this in driveways and parking lots across Monroe, Everett, Snohomish, Lake Stevens, Bothell, Woodinville, Kirkland and Seattle, or in our Monroe shop if you would rather drop the vehicle off. The glass, the adhesive and the warranty are the same either way.

Repair it if the chip is smaller than a quarter, the crack is shorter than a few inches, and the damage is not in the driver's direct line of sight or within an inch or two of the edge. A repair keeps the factory seal, takes 30 minutes and costs a fraction of a replacement. Replace it when the crack has run, the damage sits where a repair would distort your view, or there are multiple breaks.
We tell you which one honestly, because a windshield we repair today is a customer who calls us for the replacement years from now. If you are not sure, text us a photo and we will tell you before you book anything.

Your windshield holds up the roof in a rollover and gives the passenger airbag something to push against. Both depend on the bond between the glass and the body, and that bond depends on prep: the old urethane trimmed correctly, bare metal primed, the right adhesive used at the right temperature, and the glass set once, in the right place.
Skip any of that and you get leaks, wind noise, a windshield that pops out in a crash, or rust under the molding a year later. Our technicians are trained on the adhesive systems we use and every installation carries a lifetime workmanship warranty for as long as you own the vehicle.

If your vehicle has a camera behind the rearview mirror for lane keeping, forward collision warning, automatic braking or adaptive cruise, yes. Replacing the glass moves the camera by a fraction of a degree, and the manufacturer requires recalibration so the systems see the road correctly.
We check your VIN before the appointment, tell you whether your vehicle needs a static calibration in our Monroe shop, a dynamic calibration on the road or both, and include it in the quote so there are no surprises on the invoice.

It depends on the vehicle and the features in the glass. A basic windshield on an older sedan is far less than a heated, acoustic windshield with a camera on a late-model SUV, and calibration adds to the total when required. Send us your year, make, model and VIN and we will quote it exactly, with 5% off when you tell us how you found us.
Usually about an hour after the glass is set. The urethane has a published safe drive-away time that depends on temperature and humidity, and your technician will give you the exact time for your day.
We offer both OEM glass from the vehicle manufacturer and OEE glass made to the same specifications by the same factories. For camera-equipped windshields we often recommend OEM; for most other vehicles OEE is an identical fit at a lower price. We quote both when there is a real choice.
Many comprehensive policies in Washington cover windshield replacement, and the required calibration along with it. Call us with your policy details and we will help you figure out coverage before any work starts.
Light rain is fine under a canopy. In heavy weather we may suggest our Monroe shop or reschedule, because the bond needs a clean, dry surface. Your technician makes the call with you.
