Hey folks! This is Patrick from Chip Happens Auto Glass.

Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.

Today's question is:

"What brands of windshields does Chip Happens install?"

Answer:

So the differences between quality OEM glass and aftermarket glass is uh very diminishable. Um there's not a lot of difference as windshields are safety devices. Um, so they are held to the DOT and AS1 certifications to be installed in our country. Um, there is no technical like cheap glass. Um, there's unbranded glass which is like buying a pair of Nikes without the swoosh. Um, you're still getting the same quality product made by most of the same manufacturers that your OE companies use um, when they bid out for a new vehicle. Um, so if you look on your windshield or your auto glass, you can usually see the brand that actually made the part right underneath the brand of vehicle that you have. Um, so it's a nice little tidbit.

Summary:

Patrick Sherman stated that the quality difference between OEM and aftermarket windshields is minimal because all windshields are safety devices held to DOT and AS1 certifications. They explained that "unbranded" glass is essentially the same quality as branded OEM equivalents, often made by the same manufacturers, and purchasing unbranded options can save money.
