Welcome to another Q&A session where I answer questions from y'all on the internet.
Today's question is:
The one piece of technology that’s bad for auto glass isn’t actually technology at all — it’s bad technicians. The industry is evolving quickly, and vehicles are becoming more advanced with sensors, cameras, and complex glass systems. The problem arises when technicians don’t have the knowledge, training, or equipment to keep up with those changes.
Technology is coming whether we like it or not, so technicians have to adapt, overcome, and stay educated. If someone doesn’t understand how modern systems work or isn’t prepared to handle them properly, that creates safety risks. The technology itself isn’t the issue — the lack of preparedness is.
Patrick’s “hot take” is that unqualified technicians are the biggest threat to auto glass, not new technology itself. Staying educated and equipped is essential.
